Stead Sunroom Extension
This detached villa was extended to create a modern sunroom that could be utilised throughout the seasons. Accessed off the existing kitchen the southern aspect folding sliding doors provide generous natural daylight as well as views to the garden and pasture land beyond. Additional natural daylight is generated through the use of bespoke glass rooflights to the North. A large timber deck also wraps itself around the extension and provides a south facing external area for seating. Despite the large expanse of glazing the enhanced building fabric and wood burning stove ensure that this new living space remains functional throughout the winter months.
“We had a good journey with Darren from our initial meeting where we discussed what we wanted from the extension on through the comprehensive review process until agreeing the final design. Delighted with Darren’s design suggestions (we hadn’t even thought of the wood burning stove) the bi-folding doors and the skylights are highlights in the finished build. He successfully managed the contractors and brought a professional bearing across the project from beginning to end. A man worth talking to.”In memory of Robin Stead 1956 – 2013
